Trek Text -- June 15, 2023
Spiritual Preparation
The stake presidency has asked that each individual attending trek receive a priesthood blessing before coming. There are so many willing priesthood holders who can help with this--a father, a home teacher, a member of your bishopric, or the Trek committee members. If you need help receiving a blessing, please reach out.
Keep reading the Book of Mormon! The Stake Presidency has challenged everyone to finish the Book of Mormon by the last day of Trek.
Remember to come with a pioneer story to share with your family!

Physical Preparation
Exercise 3 or more times per week for 60 minutes.
Walk or run 75% of your exercise time, including hills. Hill training will be important to condition your legs to the challenges you will experience on the trail.
Other
Be prepared for rain! Even though it looks like it will be good weather while we're there, it has rained up at Trek this week and last week. Remember to bring a good poncho and a personal tarp (5'x7', 6'x8' or bigger recommended) and have them at the top of your bucket for easy access.
Trek starts June 21st! Youth will be meeting at their regular church buildings at 7:00 AM (except Greenfield youth) with their gear and will be bussed up to the Deseret Land and Livestock property.
On Saturday, June 24th parents are asked to come welcome their children home at the end of the trail and drive them home afterward. Please be at the trail by 11:00 AM. It's about an hour and 20 minute drive from Centerville and driving directions can be found on the site here.
Having parents line the trail is a special experience for the youth and we would love to have every parent who can be part of it. If you are unable to be there, please make arrangements for your child to carpool home with another parent.
Parents, please remember to write your letters to your child(ren)! Put letters in a sealed envelope with your child's name on it and deliver it to a member of your ward bishopric as soon as possible.
