Spiritual Preparation
Remember to take time to find a pioneer story you can share at Trek. We've included a few resources on how you can find those stories.
Watch this short video highlighting lessons everyone can learn from Latter-day Saint pioneers--even if you aren't directly related to any of them!
We invite everyone to join with us in adding our stake's Trek to your fast on Sunday, June 4th. We would love the additional help that fasting can provide to keep participants healthy, the weather pleasant, and the Spirit strong.
We also encourage each person preparing for Trek to include temple worship in your preparation. Please try to make time to be in the temple before we go.
Keep reading the Book of Mormon! The Stake Presidency has challenged everyone to finish the Book of Mormon by the last day of Trek.
Discover the Pioneers in Your Own Family
Build your family tree in FamilySearch.org. If you are just starting your family tree on FamilySearch.org, add your parents and grandparents. Once you get to the generation in your family that is deceased, your ancestors may already be in the collaborative family tree and you just need to find and connect them to your tree. Add any missing ancestors to your tree to make it as full as you can.
Go to FamilySearch.org/Pioneers. Log in to your FamilySearch account. View the list of pioneers in your family tree that have been verified by the Church History Library. Click on “View Photos and Stories” to learn about those pioneer ancestors.
Learn more about your ancestors with the Church History Biographical Database.
Write down one or more faith-promoting stories that you can share with your Trek family. If you find you don’t have pioneer ancestors, as members of the church the pioneers are still your heritage. Find faith-promoting stories from any pioneer families that you can share with your Trek family. You can find amazing pioneer stories in many places. Here is one good resource:

Physical Preparation
Exercise 4-5 times per week for 60 minutes.
Walk or run 75% of your exercise time, including hills. Hill training will be important to condition your legs to the challenges you will experience on the trail.
Other
Trek starts June 21st! Youth will be meeting at their regular church buildings at 7:00 AM with their gear and will be bussed up to the Deseret Land and Livestock property.
On Saturday, June 24th parents are asked to come welcome their children home at the end of the trail and drive them home afterward. Please be at the trail by 11:00 AM. It's about an hour and 20 minute drive from Centerville and driving directions can be found on the site here.
Having parents line the trail is a special experience for the youth and we would love to have every parent who can be part of it. If you are unavailable to get your children home, please make arrangements for your child to carpool home with another parent.
Parents, please remember to write your letters to your child(ren)! Put letters in a sealed envelope with your child's name on it and deliver it to a member of your ward bishopric. We hope to have all of them gathered by next Sunday, June 4th.
Each youth attending Trek has been asked to contribute $50. You can submit your donation using a donation slip and envelope. Mark "Other" and write in "Trek".
