Ma and Pa Equipment List
Please make sure to label all of your gear!
Everyone Should Bring:
1 large plastic bag with your name on it containing:
1 warm sleeping bag
1 blanket
1 warm coat
1 five-gallon bucket with your name on it with padded lid, lined with a plastic bag and containing:
1 rain poncho (make easily accessible!)
1 heavy-duty garbage bag
1 small ground cloth, tarp, or heavy visqueen/plastic (used to wrap around individuals at night to protect against moisture. 5'x7' or 6'x8' recommended)
1 pair of comfortable, sturdy boots or shoes to hike in (make sure to break them in before Trek!)
1 pair of tennis shoes
3 pairs of good, sturdy socks. (Get socks of wool or synthetic material, not cotton.)
3 sets of underclothing
1 metal pie plate (or a plate with enough of a lip to hold stew)
1 large spoon
1 fork (or a spoon/fork combo)
1 water bottle
1 small package of baby wipes (it gets dusty)
1 comb or brush
1 toothbrush and travel toothpaste
Deodorant
Small first aid kit
Small bottle of hand sanitizer
Any physician prescribed medications
1 pair of work gloves (leather works best)
Flashlight
Lip balm with sunscreen
Insect repellant
Sunscreen
Sunglasses (optional)
Anti-chafing stick
Scriptures
Personal journal and a pen or pencil (optional)
Bandana (optional--Trek bandana will be provided)
Men Should Also Bring:
2 pair of cotton or canvas pants (no denim)
2 long sleeve shirts
1 pair of suspenders
Warm pajamas
1 wide-brimmed western style hat (no baseball caps) with string for wind
Beanie or knit winter hat
Compression shorts under pants (optional)
Women Should Also Bring:
2 mid-calf length, long sleeve dresses or skirts and long sleeve blouses
Compression shorts/pants to wear under skirt
1 wide-brimmed straw hat with a string (bonnets aren’t recommended–they get too hot)
Beanie or knit winter hat
1 or 2 aprons
Warm pajamas
Feminine hygiene supplies (make easily accessible!)
For Cooking, Each Ma & Pa Should Also Bring:
2 Burner camp stove that stands on its own (Camp Chefs work great)
2 Five gallon insulated jugs
2 Twelve inch dutch ovens
1 Pair of leather gloves to handle dutch ovens
1 Dutch oven lid lifter (hot pad or leather gloves can work, too)
1 Hammer
1 Large knife
2 Paring knives
Kitchen shears (optional)
1 Cutting board
2 Heat-resistant spatulas for stirring dutch ovens
1 Can opener
1 Whisk
1 Pair of tongs
2 Serving spoons
1 Salad/Mixing bowl
1 Lighter
1 Plastic tote with lid to store cooking utensils and for use as a washing bin
The Food Committee will Provide Each Ma & Pa:
Salt & Pepper shakers
Spices needed for each meal
Aluminum foil
Scrubbie
Dish soap
Scraper (for dutch ovens)
Dutch oven liners for each cooked meal
Roasting sticks
Cooking oil
Paper towels
Optional Equipment:
Pop-up Pod to be used as a changing area or for trail pit stops
