What is the Trek theme

Why do we go on Treks

From 1856 to 1860, about 3,000 Latter-day Saints pulled handcarts across the American plains to gather in the Salt Lake Valley. These pioneers trekked more than a thousand miles through heat and cold; through mud, sand, and sometimes snow; and through rivers and over mountains. They faced trials that required great faith and perseverance.

Trek gives us a chance to focus on what the handcart pioneers went through by pulling a handcart for a few miles over the space of a few days. It provides opportunities to strengthen testimonies, build unity, do family history, and learn gospel principles. We hope trek can also help us all learn more about who we are, what we can become, and from where to draw our strength.

How is transportation working to and from Trek?

Youth - Youth will meet at 7AM at their ward buildings on June 21st and will be transported up to Trek by bus. At 11AM on June 24th, the youth will need to be picked up by their parents or have other arrangements made to come home.

Mas & Pas - Mas and Pas will meet at 6:30AM the stake center on June 21st and will drive up to trek themselves (carpooling as much as possible). Mas and Pas will drive home the same way they came up on the 24th.
